Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran was a speaker, investor, and businesswoman from the United American. The Corcoran Group was a New York City real estate brokerage she established. NRT purchased it for $66million in 2001. Corcoran later left the company. Corcoran is one of ABC's first Shark investors has been part of every episode of Shark Tank. Corcoran has signed 53 deals until February of 2020. Her largest deal was her investment of $350,000 into Coverplay for 40%. Corcoran, who was the second child of 10 from a Catholic family with a low-income was born in Edgewater in New Jersey. Florence, her mother, was a household worker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He was constantly moving between jobs and another throughout Corcoran's youth. Her family often relied on free food delivery from a local grocery store. Corcoran recalls her father as someone who was drunk occasionally and treated her mother with disrespect. Corcoran struggled throughout her schooling before discovering that she had dyslexia. Corcoran began the high school system in St. Cecilia High School Englewood following her departure from her Catholic elementary school. Corcoran completed her studies at Leonia High School with a diploma in English, despite failing several courses during her freshman years.
