Kamala Harris

Kamala Devi Harris, born October 20 1964 is a prominent American politician as well as a lawyer. She is currently the 49th vice president of the United States. Kamala Devi Harris is the first female elected vice president, and she is also the highest-ranking female officer in American history. She is a senator and former senator from California. Harris was born in Oakland, California. She graduated from Howard University as well as the University of California Hastings College of the Law. She began her career in the Alameda County District Attorney's Office prior to her move to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office and then the City Attorney of San Francisco's office. In 2003, she was appointed the San Francisco district attorney. In 2010 Harris was appointed Attorney General of California and then re-elected in 2014. From 2017 to 2021, Harris was the junior United States senator for California. Harris beat Loretta Santiago in the 2016 Senate election, becoming the 2nd African American woman to serve in Congress , and the only South Asian American American to do so in the United States Senate. She was a senator who worked for healthcare and federal de-scheduling cannabis. A pathway towards citizenship for migrants who aren't legal. The DREAM Act bans assault weapons and progressive tax reform. She gained a national profile due to her sharp questioning of Trump administration officials during Senate hearings, which included Trump's second Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh who was accused of assault on a woman.
