Kyra Minturn
Kyraminturn Sedgwick was born August 19th 1965. She is an American actor and producer. She is best known for her part as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson in the TNT crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick was honored with a Golden Globe Award and an Emmy Award for her portrayal as Johnson in 2007. After the seventh season, Sedgwick was awarded the Golden Globe Award in 2007 as well as an Emmy Award in 2010. The series ended August 13th, 2012. Sedgwick's performance as Madeline Wuntch in the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine is also noteworthy. Sedgwick received nominations for an Golden Globe award for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's roles in other films include Oliver Stone's Born to the Fourth of July (1989) and Cameron Crowe's singles (1992) as well as Heart and Souls(93), Phenomenon (1996), What's Cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was born in New York City, the daughter of Patricia (nee Rosenwald), an educator and speech therapist and Henry Dwight Sedgwick V, an investor in venture capital. Her mother was Jewish. Her father was Episcopalian and of English descent. Sedgwick says she is Jewish and has stated that she goes to Passover seders.
